The new Dext platform has an enhanced, simplified and more intuitive design, with simpler navigation.
Below is a summary of the changes and new features now available to you, and how to continue to access your favourite Dext features and easily complete your daily tasks.

Managing your Practice:
Client List
Manage your clients easily from your client list. The first business listed will be your own practice business, from which you can manage your practice’s bookkeeping.
Below that all your clients will be listed and you will be able to see the integrated accounting software, account manager, client type, and many other details listed beside them.
Managing your Team
Manage your team and add Colleagues easily by going to Team at the left of the screen.
Practice Settings
Your practice settings, including your practice profile, registered address, tax, item messaging and subscription, can all be managed by going to Practice Settings in the bottom left of the screen.

Managing Clients & Their Businesses:
Adding & Managing Client Users
Additional users on a client’s account can be managed by going to Users at the bottom left of the screen.
Connecting to an Accounting Software
Connecting to an accounting software, and managing that connection, can now be done by:
- Going to Business Setting in the bottom left of the screen
- Then Connections
Once a connection is set up, you can manage the connection’s settings by clicking Manage next to the connection.
Supplier & Customer Rules
The location for managing Supplier and Customer rules has been moved.
Supplier rules
Supplier rules can now be accessed by:
- Going to Costs
- Then Suppliers
Customer Rules
Customer Rules can now be accessed by:
- Going to Sales
- Then Customers
Expense Reports
Expense Reports are now called Expense Claims, and are accessed by:
- Going to Costs
- Then Expense Claims
Lists: Categories, Tax Categories, Projects, Products & Services & Payment Methods
The Lists section of the old Dext Prepare sidebar can now be accessed by:
- Going to Business Settings
- Then Lists
Submission History
The submission history can now be accessed by clicking the Submission History button at the bottom left of the screen.

Business Settings
A client’s business settings are accessed via the Business Settings button in the button left corner of the screen.
In the business settings area you can access the Business profile, Connections, Extraction, Automation and Export settings, and Lists.
Please note that:
- ‘System Settings’ are now located under Extraction in Business Settings.
- ‘Account Details’ are now located under Business Profile in Business Settings.
- ‘Subscription’ is now located under Business Settings.
- ‘Accountant’ can now be found under Business Settings.
- And finally ‘My Details’ can now be found in User Settings which is accessed by going to the user icon in the top right of the screen.
