How to add a mileage claim using the mobile app

You can add your company vehicles and create mileage claims using the mobile app.

Adding a vehicle

To add your vehicle: 

1. Go to Settings in the bottom right corner.
2. Click Vehicles.
3. Click the Add button in the top right corner or the Add vehicle button in the centre of the screen if no vehicles have been added yet.
4. Enter the relevant details and click Save. 

Note: You can click back into the vehicle to make changes to it or delete it if needed.

Creating Mileage Claims

To create a mileage claim: 

1. Click the up arrow next to the camera icon and click Create mileage claim.
2. Select Log trip manually.
3. Swipe up on the Your trip section to allow you to enter details of your mileage claim. 
4. Select the vehicle the trip was made in, you can also add a new vehicle in this step if needed. 
5. Select the Document owner and the date of the trip. 
6. Enter the destinations you’ve travelled from and to. You can also add in additional destinations if you made extra stops on your journey. 
7. Select whether it was a round trip using the toggle and once happy, click Create. 

Note: Once created, you’ll find your mileage claim in the Cost Inbox.

GPS Mileage Tracking

You can now capture and submit mileage claims using GPS! 

Note: GPS mileage tracking is currently available on iOS devices, we’ll be launching this for Android devices soon.

To create a mileage claim with GPS tracking:

1. Click the up arrow next to the camera icon and click Create mileage claim.
2. Select Start GPS tracking. 
3. (Optional) You can pause your tracking mid trip if you’re making multiple stops throughout your journey.

If you navigate away from the Dext app, we’ll continue to track your trip whilst in the background. We’ll also save all recorded trips so you don’t lose them until you’re ready to submit them.

4. Click Finish once you’ve completed your journey. 
5. Swipe up on the Your trip section to allow you to enter details of your mileage claim. 
6. Once happy, click Create.

In order to use this feature, you’ll need to allow authorization for Dext to use your location.
