Reconnect your account with Xero should an error with the connection occur.
This article is relevant to the enhanced Dext experience. You can access the article for the legacy Dext experience here.
Your Xero connection could break because your login credentials have changed or your Xero connection has expired.
Reconnecting will re-establish the connection with your accounting software.
If you would simply like to refresh your lists, see how to refresh the connection section below.
Important: To be able to connect with an accounting software you must be assigned the Admin role. Reach out to your account administrator or accountant/bookkeeper to request access.
How to Reconnect
To reconnect:
- Navigate to the Business Settings section of the sidebar, then Connections.
- On the Connections page, click Manage next to Xero.
- Then click the green Reconnect button – you’ll be redirected to Xero and prompted to log in to your Xero account.
- Once logged in, click the blue Continue with “x” organisations button.
- You will then be taken back to Dext Prepare. From there, choose an organisation to give Dext access to, and click Next.
- Finally, you will see a confirmation that your organisation is connected. Click Finish.
Note: If you’ve reconnected your integration due to a publishing error, you’ll need to try and publish your document once more, even with the error message still showing.
How to Refresh Lists
Refreshing your connection will only refresh the charts of accounts (all the lists pulled from the integration).
Important: No data will be lost when the connection is refreshed.
