You can easily connect your Dext account with MYOB AccountRight Live to publish your Costs and Sales documents directly from Dext to MYOB.
Before you start
To integrate with MYOB, make sure:
You have the Admin role in Dext.
(If not, contact your account administrator or accountant.)Your MYOB user is set to sign in with a my.MYOB account.
This is required to complete the connection.
You can check this in MYOB by going to Setup > User Access, selecting your user, and ensuring the box “This user will sign on with a my.MYOB account” is ticked.
If this isn’t enabled, or if your user doesn’t have online access, you’ll see an error message that says: “You must be an Administrator to connect. Contact your Administrator.”

Connect Dext to MYOB
Follow these steps to connect your Dext account to MYOB AccountRight Live:
In Dext, go to Business settings > Connections.
Under Accounting software, click the Connect button.
3. On the list of available integrations, find MYOB, then click the Connect button.
4. Review the overview, then click Connect software. You’ll be redirected to the
MYOB website.
5. Sign in with your my.MYOB login credentials.
6. You’ll see the Connect Dext Prepare to MYOB page.
7. Select the business you want to connect from the list, then click Connect.
8. After authorising, you’ll be redirected back to Dext to confirm the connection.
Once complete, Dext will automatically sync your organisation's file lists. To go
further, create rules to automate data extraction.
After connecting
When the integration is complete:
Dext pulls your data from the connected MYOB client file.
You can publish transactions directly to MYOB from Dext.
To ensure accuracy, set default tax and freight rates in Business settings > Connections > Accounting software (MYOB) > Manage button > Settings.
We recommend:
Default tax rate: GST Free (0%)
Default freight rate: GST Free (0%)
If you don’t specify a tax rate on an item, these defaults will be used automatically.
Troubleshooting connection errors
If you see this message during setup:
“You must be an Administrator to connect. Contact your Administrator.”
It means your MYOB user does not have online access enabled.
To fix it:
In MYOB, go to Setup > User Access.
Select your user and tick “This user will sign on with a my.MYOB account”.
Save the changes, then try reconnecting from Dext.
You’re all set!
Your Dext account is now securely connected to MYOB AccountRight Live.
