Trusted devices allow you to skip entering a verification code every time you log in with two-factor authentication (2FA).

Once a browser is marked as trusted, Dext won’t ask for a verification code on that browser again - unless you remove it.

Important: A “device” refers to a browser session. If you use Chrome and Firefox on the same computer, each counts as a separate trusted device. Incognito or private windows are always treated as new devices.

Trust a device during login

  1. Log in to Dext with your email and password.

  2. Enter your 2FA verification code.

  3. On the next screen, select Trust device.

You’ll receive an email confirming the login.

If you select Skip, the browser will not be trusted, and the email will indicate that the login occurred from an untrusted device.

View or manage trusted devices

To manage your trusted devices:

  1. Select your Profile icon (top right).

  2. Select User settings.

  3. Open the Security tab.

  4. Scroll to the Trusted devices section.

From here, you can:

  • View all trusted devices (sorted by last login date)

  • Rename a device

  • Remove a device

Removing a device will:

  • Log it out of your account

  • Require 2FA again the next time it logs in

  3. Under Cookies and Site Data, ensure Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed is unchecked.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Select the three dots (top right) > Settings.

  2. Go to Privacy, search, and services.

  3. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear every time you close the browser.

  4. Turn off Cookies and other site data.

Trusted devices and multiple Dext accounts

Trusted devices are tied to your login email address.

If you use different email addresses for different Dext accounts, the trusted status will not carry over between them.

To manage multiple accounts under one login, see:

Trusted devices on mobile

The Dext mobile app automatically treats your phone as trusted.

Because access is protected by your device’s security (Face ID, fingerprint, PIN, etc.), you won’t be asked to trust it separately.

The Last login field in your trusted devices list may update when the mobile app syncs or logs in.
