When you enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for your Dext account, you receive 12 one-time backup codes.

These codes allow you to log in if you lose access to your usual verification method, such as your:

  • Authenticator app

  • Mobile phone (SMS)

  • Email verification

Backup codes are your recovery method if you can’t access your primary 2FA option.

How backup codes work

  • You receive 12 unique codes when you set up 2FA.

  • Each code can be used only once.

  • After a code is used, it becomes invalid.

  • Store them securely - for example, in a password manager or secure document.

Log in using a backup code

If you cannot access your usual 2FA method:

  1. Go to the Dext login page (web or mobile app).

  2. Enter your email and password.

  3. On the verification screen, select Use a backup code.

  4. Enter one of your unused backup codes.

  5. Select Verify to log in.
