How to block unwanted email addresses or domains

Block individual senders or entire domains from submitting documents to Dext by email.

Written by Alexander

You can block individual email addresses or entire domains from sending documents to Dext, including wildcard domain blocks.

Important: You need to be an Admin user to manage blocked emails for your account. If you're an accountant or bookkeeper working in a client's account, you have admin access by default.

Block a sender or domain

To block a sender or domain, go to Business settings and add the address you want to block.

  1. Go to Business settings > Extraction.

  2. Select Manage next to Blocked emails.

  3. Enter the email address or domain and select Block.

Note: To block all addresses from a domain, use an asterisk before the domain — for example, *@example.com blocks all emails from that domain.

Remove a blocked sender

To remove a sender or domain you've blocked, select the red X beside its entry.

  1. Go to Business settings > Extraction > Manage next to Blocked emails.

  2. Select the red X beside the address you want to remove.

What's next

Once you've set up your blocked senders, you can get back to submitting and managing documents by email.
