You can connect your JumpCloud account to Dext to enable Single Sign-On (SSO).

This setup allows you to log in to Dext using your existing JumpCloud credentials instead of creating a separate password.

Note: You must have an existing JumpCloud Admin account before beginning the configuration.

Step 1: Add Dext as an Application in JumpCloud

Start by creating a Custom SAML Application for Dext within JumpCloud.

Steps:

  1. Log in to the JumpCloud Admin Portal.

2. From the sidebar, select SSO Applications.

3. Click Add New Application.

4. Select Custom Application (the last tile in the list).

5. Under Manage Single Sign-On, select Configure SSO with SAML.

6. Enter an application name (for example, Dext) and click Save Application.

7. On the next screen, select Configure Application and keep this window open for later steps.

Step 2: Enable JumpCloud SSO in Dext

Next, connect the JumpCloud application to your Dext account.

  1. In Dext, go to Practice or Business Settings > Authentication

  2. Click Connect next to JumpCloud.

3. Select I have created a new application in JumpCloud, then click Next.

4. Copy the SP Entity ID from Dext. In JumpCloud, paste it into the SP Entity ID field. Repeat this process for the ACS URL field and verify that all parameters match the configuration values displayed in Dext.

5. In Dext, select I have configured the SAML settings of my new application, then click Next.

6. In JumpCloud, copy the Metadata URL from the Configuration page.

7. Paste the Metadata URL into Dext and click Connect.

Once complete, Dext will display a confirmation indicating a successful connection.

Step 3: Add Users in JumpCloud

Each Dext user must exist in JumpCloud with the same email address they use for their Dext login.

To add users:

  1. In JumpCloud, go to Users > +Users.

  2. Enter the required details and click Save.

  3. Navigate to SSO Applications > User Groups.

  4. Assign the appropriate user and click Save.

For more detailed instructions, refer to JumpCloud’s official documentation: Add Users to the Admin Portal.

Step 4: Set Up JumpCloud SSO for Multiple Dext Accounts

You can enable SSO for multiple Dext accounts by creating separate JumpCloud applications for each account.

  • Create a distinct Dext application in JumpCloud for every Dext account.

  • Enter the correct account CRN in each SAML configuration.

  • In Dext, specify the corresponding Metadata URL for each application.

Each JumpCloud application can only be linked to one Dext account.

Step 5: Troubleshooting SSO Issues

Change in SAML Certificates

If your SAML certificate in JumpCloud changes, your Dext SSO connection will cease to function until it is synchronized again.

To resolve the issue:

  1. In Dext, go to Practice or Business Settings > Authentication.

  2. A message will appear showing the metadata URL Dext uses to fetch data.

  3. Click Refresh to synchronize the connection.

The SSO link between Dext and JumpCloud should now be restored.
