You can connect your Dext account with MYOB Essentials to publish your Costs and Sales documents directly from Dext to MYOB.
Before you start
To connect Dext with MYOB Essentials:
You must have the Admin role in Dext. If you don’t have access, ask your account administrator or accountant to update your role.
You must be able to sign in to MYOB Essentials and have permission to connect apps for the business.
No additional user or online access setup is required in MYOB Essentials.
Connect Dext to MYOB Essentials
Follow these steps to connect your Dext account to MYOB Essentials:
In Dext, go to Business settings > Connections.
Under Accounting software, click the Connect button.
3. On the list of available integrations, find MYOB, then click the Connect button.
4. Review the overview, then click Connect software. You’ll be redirected to the
MYOB website.
5. Sign in with your MYOB Essentials login details.
6. You’ll see the Connect Dext Prepare to MYOB page.
7. Select the business you want to connect from the list, then click Connect.
8. After authorising, you’ll be redirected back to Dext to confirm the connection.
After connecting, Dext will automatically sync your MYOB Essentials data. To go further, create rules to automate data extraction.
After connecting
Once the integration is complete:
Dext pulls your contacts, accounts, and tax rates from MYOB Essentials.
You can publish transactions directly from Dext to MYOB.
To avoid publishing issues, review your default settings in
Business settings > Connections > MYOB > Settings.To ensure accuracy, set default tax and freight rates in Business settings > Connections > Accounting software (MYOB) > Manage button > Settings. If no tax rate is set on an item, these defaults will be applied automatically.
Troubleshooting connection issues
If you can’t see your business during authorisation or the connection fails:
Confirm you’re signing in to the correct MYOB Essentials account.
Make sure you have permission to connect apps for that business.
Try disconnecting and reconnecting from Business settings > Connections.
