If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it from the Dext login page on the web or in the mobile app.
If you know your current password, you can change it from User settings in the Dext web app.
If you're part of multiple accounts, your password is shared across them. Resetting it updates access for all accounts.
How to reset your password from the Dext login page (web)
To reset your password on the web, use the Forgot password? option on the Dext login page.
Go to the Dext login page in your browser.
Select Forgot password?
Enter your Dext login email address.
Select Send reset link.
Open the email and follow the instructions to create a new password.
How to reset your password from the Dext mobile app
To reset your password in the Dext mobile app, use the Forgot password option on the sign-in screen.
Open the Dext mobile app.
Tap Forgot password.
Enter your Dext login email address.
Follow the instructions in the reset email.
How to change your password while signed in (web app only)
If you know your current password, you can change it from User settings in the Dext web app.
Open User settings
To access your password settings, first open your profile menu in the web app.
Log in to Dext in your browser.
In the top-right corner of the screen, select your profile name.
Select User settings from the dropdown menu.
Go to the Security section
Your password settings are located in the Security section.
In the left-hand sidebar, select Security.
Next to Password, select Change.
Update your password
You can now enter your new password in the update window.
Enter your current password.
Enter your new password.
Confirm your new password.
Select Save.
Once saved, you’ll be logged out of Dext on all devices and will need to sign in again using your new password.
What happens after 5 unsuccessful login attempts?
After 5 incorrect password attempts, your account is not permanently locked.
To regain access, select Forgot password on the login screen and reset your password as usual.
What happens if an administrator resets your password?
If an administrator resets your password, you’ll receive an email with a reset link. The email includes the name of the person who initiated the reset.
Follow the link in the email to set a new password.
If you don’t receive the email, check your spam folder.
