Dext Solo clients can connect and manage bank feeds directly from the Bank workspace in the Dext mobile app. You can also view and code your bank transactions from the app.
Connect a bank feed
To connect a bank feed in the Dext mobile app, go to More > Bank and select + in the top right corner.
Select Agree and proceed on the data access screen.
Select Continue on the Plaid screen to confirm you're happy with the data sharing terms.
Search for or select your bank from the list.
Follow your bank's authentication process to log in.
Select the accounts you want to share with Dext and select Continue.
Confirm your selection and select Connect account information.
Select Continue on the Plaid confirmation screen to return to Dext.
Once connected, the bank account appears in the Bank section with a Bank feed label.
Note: The bank feed imports historical transactions as far back as your bank allows.
Manage a bank feed
You can manage a bank feed connection from the Bank section in two ways.
From the accounts list, swipe the bank account to the left to reveal quick actions - Reconnect and Delete.
From within the account, select the ··· menu in the top right corner to access the same options.
Note: Manually added bank accounts - used for bank statement extraction - can only be created, edited, or deleted from the Dext web app. You can still view and code their transactions in the mobile app. Bank statements can only be uploaded via the web app. See How to use Bank Statement Extraction in Dext for details.
View transactions
To view the transactions for a bank account, open it from the Bank section. The account details page shows the connection status, last sync time, and a list of transactions.
Select any transaction to open it and view its details.
Code a transaction
To code a transaction in the Dext mobile app, open the bank account and select a transaction from the list. From the transaction detail screen, you can edit the following fields:
Category - select from the list of available categories
Income source - select the relevant income source
Rental property - available if the account uses a UK Property income source; select the relevant rental property from the list
Select each field to open the selection screen, choose a value, and select Back to return to the transaction.
Note: If a transaction has been matched to a document in the web app, its fields can't be updated in the mobile app. Selecting a field shows a "Matched transactions can not be updated" message. Select Clear to dismiss the message.
Bank Match and Bank Statement Extraction
Bank Match and Bank Statement Extraction are only available in the Dext web app.
