You can download items from Dext as a PDF or ZIP file from the Costs inbox, Sales inbox, or Archive. To compare every way to export, go to How can I export my documents from Dext?
Before you start
Before you start, be aware of the PDF export limit.
PDF exports are limited to 250 items. Use advanced search and filters to narrow your selection if needed.
ZIP exports have no item limit and include files in their original format, up to 1 GB per export. Use ZIP if you need to export more than 250 items. If your documents add up to more than 1 GB, export them in smaller batches.
Export from the Costs or Sales inbox
To export items from the Costs or Sales inbox, use the checkboxes to select items and select Export. If your account is connected to accounting software, you'll find Export and Export all in the Actions menu.
To export selected items:
Select the checkboxes next to the items you want to export.
Select Export, or go to Actions, then Export.
To export everything in the inbox:
Leave all items unselected.
Select Export all, or go to Actions, then Export all.
Export from the Archive
To export items from the Archive, select the documents you need and choose Export, or select Export all to download the full Archive.
To export selected items:
Select the checkboxes next to the items you want.
Select Export.
To export everything in the Archive:
Leave all items unselected.
Select Export all.
Download as a PDF
To download a PDF export, open the export window from the inbox or Archive and follow these steps:
Select the PDF tab.
Choose whether to move exported items to the Archive after downloading.
Select Export.
Dext generates your file and scans it for viruses. When it's ready, select Download to save it to your device.
The archive option is ticked for you if you've turned on Archive after exporting to PDF in Business settings, under Automation.
Download as a ZIP file
To download a ZIP export, open the export window from the inbox or Archive and follow these steps:
Select the ZIP tab.
Choose whether to move exported items to the Archive after downloading.
Select Export.
Dext generates your file and scans it for viruses. When it's ready, select Download to save it to your device.
