The Bank workspace allows you to manage all transactions imported into Dext — from bank statements, Bank feeds, or your accounting software.
Important: Only Admin users can access the Bank workspace. This includes accountants and bookkeepers accessing a client account.
The three areas in the Bank workspace
The Bank workspace is divided into three sections:
Transactions
Statements
Accounts
Transactions
The Transactions page displays all transactions for the selected bank account.
Transactions can come from:
Connected Bank feeds (via Plaid)
Bank accounts synced through your accounting software
You select which bank account to view using the bank account dropdown in the top right.
On this page, you can:
Cash code transactions — create a Cost item directly from a transaction when no supporting document is available
See whether a transaction matches an uploaded Cost item
See and send paperwork requests
Export transactions (CSV)
For full details on viewing, filtering, and exporting transactions, go to How to view and export bank transactions in Dext.
Statements
The Statements section is where you manage uploaded bank statements. It contains two tabs: Processed and Collected.
Processed statements
The Processed tab shows bank statements that have been successfully extracted.
From here you can:
View extracted statements
Download the original uploaded file
Export extracted statement data (CSV)
Assign a statement to a different bank account
Report an extraction mistake
Delete a statement
For step-by-step guidance on uploading and managing bank statements, go to How to upload bank statements in Dext.
What you'll see
Each row displays:
Source ID
Opening date
Closing date
Opening balance
Closing balance
Export button (to download extracted data)
You can filter by bank account using the dropdown in the top-right corner, or by Source ID using the filter icon next to the bank account selector.
Collected statements
The Collected tab shows statements that are currently being extracted, and statements that were rejected.
If a statement is rejected, you can hover over the Rejected status to see the reason. You are not charged for rejected statements. For help resolving rejections, go to Why was my bank statement rejected in Dext?.
From here you can:
View the status of submitted statements
Download the original uploaded file
Cancel an extraction (if processing)
Reassign a statement to a different bank account
What you'll see
Each row displays:
Source ID
Status
Bank
File name
Submission date
Available action (e.g., Cancel extraction)
You can filter statements by bank account using the bank account dropdown in the top-right corner.
Accounts
The Accounts page provides an overview of all bank accounts in a Dext account, whether they were added manually, connected via bank feed, or imported through an accounting software integration. Dext highlights any accounts that require your attention.
By default, the following information is displayed:
Bank account name
Bank or integration name
Account number (last four digits)
Currency
Last closing date
Last closing balance
Source of the account
Last sync date
Selecting anywhere on a bank account row opens the Transactions page filtered for that account. You can customise the columns shown by selecting the cog icon in the top right.
To add a bank account manually for uploading statements, go to How to upload bank statements in Dext.
To connect a bank feed for automatic transaction imports, go to How to use Bank feeds in Dext.
