Client Sync lets you add and integrate multiple client accounts at the same time, using the client list from your connected accounting software. You can also use it to reconnect expired integrations in bulk or reassign clients from a colleague to yourself.
To access Client Sync, go to your Clients list, select Actions, then select Open Client Sync.
Add clients in bulk
Adding clients in bulk through Client Sync creates their Dext accounts and sets up their accounting software integration at the same time.
From the Client Sync window, select Add clients next to your accounting software.
Sign in to your accounting software when prompted.
Select Continue to proceed with your connected organisations.
Select the clients you want to add to your Dext client list. If you're on a Practice Advanced plan, you can assign clients to a team at this stage.
Select Create accounts.
The clients will appear in your client list once the sync is complete. Their account details are automatically pulled from the integration.
Reconnect multiple clients in bulk
If multiple clients have expired or broken integrations, you can reconnect them all in a single step rather than fixing each account individually.
From the Client Sync window, select Reconnect all next to your accounting software.
Sign in to your accounting software if prompted.
Select Continue to proceed with your connected organisations.
All affected clients are reconnected using your credentials. Their details sync automatically once the reconnection is complete.
Reassign clients
When a client's Xero integration is set up, it authenticates using the credentials of the person who connected it. If that person leaves or changes role, you can reassign those credentials to yourself - making you the authenticated user for the connection.
This means you'll be able to reconnect, refresh, and manage the integration going forward. You'll need access to the client in Xero to do this.
From the Client Sync window, select Reassign clients next to your accounting software.
Sign in to your accounting software if prompted.
Select Continue to proceed with your connected organisations.
Select the checkbox next to each client you want to reassign, then select Continue.
Manage a client's accounting software connection
To manage an individual client's accounting software connection after syncing, go to the client's account and navigate to Business settings > Connections. Select Manage next to the connected accounting software to reconnect, refresh, update settings, or disconnect.
